The drive from Kasane to Victoria Falls Town is a short but special cross-border journey of roughly 90 kilometres, usually taking just over an hour. The route follows the edge of Chobe National Park, so don’t be surprised if elephants, baboons or even buffalo make a casual appearance before you’ve even reached Zimbabwe. The main stop along the way is the Kazungula border crossing between Botswana and Zimbabwe. Border formalities are generally straightforward, though waiting times can vary a little depending on the season and time of day. Once across, the landscape becomes greener and you’ll soon start hearing whispers of the mighty Victoria Falls.
